PawPrints is Takoma Academy's official school publication.
While it is called "the
newspaper," it is really more of a newsletter. In previous years,
PawPrints was published quarterly, but now, thanks to the school's new
color copier, issues will be printed monthly. Students, parents and friends of
TA are invited to submit comments, questions, articles, suggestions and
photographs.
- During Spring Break, our Drama Troupe went on a
cruise. You're probably saying to yourself, "So, what?" The "what"
is that this was a mission cruise! The drama students made an
positive impact on others while enjoying some fun-in-the-sun time!
Maria will give you the details.
- Several evenings each week, if you're in the
building after 6 p.m., you may hear some very strange sounds coming
from the lower level. There's a cacophony of grunts, shouts and
sometimes, laughter. These sounds are coming from the Tae Kwon Do
class taught by Pastor Anthony Medley. Blayre is one of his
students, and she'll tell you about their recent tournament.
- The Amazing Race is one of Principal Henri's
favorite television shows. So, when he created TA's Amazing Race in
2006, it was no surprise! Eighth graders from area elementary
schools are invited to TA to spend a day in friendly competition and
teamwork. Melanie will tell you how that day's activities went.
- Our annual Alumni Weekend is always a big deal
and this year was no exception. From Friday morning's
golf tournament to the basketball game on
Saturday night, a fun time was had by all. Monique and Ronisha will
share all the details. Meanwhile, pictures of the golf tournament
have been posted on the golf page, and more pictures of the weekend
will be coming soon.
- Other features will include our Community Service
Day, the Spring Production of "Cheaper by the Dozen," the
Junior/Senior Banquet and the Spring Picnic.
Look for copies of the April-May issue in the
Front Office, Library and Room 14 at the beginning of June.
