Takoma Academy is a nonresidential, coeducational school on the senior high school level, owned and operated by the Potomac Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. It is one of 7,283 Adventist educational institutions around the world. This includes 5,663 elementary, 1,472 secondary, 42 Working Training Schools, and 106 colleges and universities (2006 statistics). Takoma Academy has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools since 1935 and the Maryland State Department of Education since 1959. As we make preparations to celebrate our 75th anniversary year in 2008, I'll begin telling you the story of Takoma Academy. We'll reflect on our incredible past, enjoy our present, and look to our future with special events throughout the year. Please check back often to find out what's happening. If you'd care to share any of your memories or memorabilia, please contact me. |
